Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is nestled off of the coast of Maine. Acadia National Park's 47,000 acres include shorelines, woodlands, and lakes.

Originally created as Lafayette National Park in 1919, the first National Park East of the Mississippi, it was renamed Acadia in 1929.

Carriage Roads in Acadia National Park

45 miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, a gift form John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Since all motorized vehicles are prohibited, these carriage rides are popular with walkers, runners, bikers, and carriage rides.

Extend Your Trip

Come early or extend your SIPES Convention trip in New England. See more of Maine, or Mount Washington in Vermont, or travel to Boston. Bar Harbor is located near Quebec and the Canadian Maritime Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Bring your passport and go north to the Bay of Fundy, with the world's highest tides. There are plenty of sites to see, and the weather will be COOL!
